Cancer Incidence by Age
Each year, millions of people are diagnosed with cancer and it has been estimated that more than one in three people (33%) will develop cancer at some point in their life.
Cancer may occur at any age, but the risk of developing cancer increases with age.
Over half (53%) of all cancers occur in people aged 50-74 whereas more than third (36%) of all cancers are diagnosed in people aged 75 or over. Increasing age is a factor that we can’t do anything about, but we can make lifestyle choices about the risk factors that increase or influence a person’s risk.
– Stopping smoking
– Maintaining a balanced diet
– Active physical regime
– Cutting down on alcohol intake
– Avoid becoming overweight and/or reduce if you’re overweight
– Radiation
– Infectious agents
With medical and technological advancements, we’re getting better at recognizing & treating cancer. Reach out to your doctor for detailed cancer consultation to control and cure cancer at an early stage.
